This is a letter a.k.a email from my church leader....very interesting piece which asks us to invite people for the movie passion...yes, it's that much hyped movie...increases my curiousity to watch it too...

My dear brothers and sister in Christ in Central 4 sub district community

Next week is a "window of opportunity" God has opened for Christians in this nation for nationwide spiritual awakening. The movie Passion of the Christ have generated wonderful testimonies thus far. It is interesting to note that Passion of the Christ movie is the first movie in Singapore to receive M18 rating. If the movie had come to Singapore earlier it would haven been given RA 21 rating. Is it a coincidence of is it God's given timing?

I choose to believe the second one.

On our part we can either maximise this "window of opportunity", use it a little bit or miss it completely. My prayer is that our sub district in indirect or direct involvement will maximise this "window of opportunity" fully. I understand that some if not many of us are also busy with ministries commitments during this season of time. However, perhaps this is a season of time that God might wants us to strectch a little more pastorally. Let's ask God how He wants us personally and as a group to maximise on this "window of opportunity" that He had opened before us. Our obedience to God to what He wants us to do/stretch for this season of time might translate into salvation of our parents, siblings, colleagues and friends. Shall we do this together? :)

Please allow me to share a verse from the book of Matthew 13:22

"The one who received the seed that fell among the thorns is the man who hears the word but the worries of this life and the deceitfulness of wealth choke it, making it unfruitful.

I believe that many Christians want to obey, serve and love God more than where they are today. However the worries of life choke them and make them unfruitful for the Lord. Today let us examine our hearts are we weighed down, by the worries of life? Worries of our finance, worries of our study, worries of our work, worries of our relationship our worries of our future or even unhealthy worries about our ministries. These worries choke the spiritual life that is in us and cause us to be ineffective/less effective for the Lord.

I believe the Devil will stir up and intensify these worries in our lives even more this week if something great is going to happen next week and the weeks after. Satan wants us to miss out God given "window of opportunity".

Let us be mindful for His scheme so that we will not be taken advantage by him. Let's not to be distracted by many things of life but let us focus our eyes on the Lord. Let's hear and obey what He wants us to do in this "window of opportunity" opened for us. We might not be doing the same things in this season of time but in our hearts and in our corporate activities let us be united, let us allow the anointing of God to flow through our lives and ministries as pledge ourselves in unity of love and purpose. (Psalms 133)

On the practical note I would like to suggest several steps:

1. Pray and Fast (one meal per day) this week following the Church's direction
Date: 29 March (today) to 2 April (Friday)

2. Prepare ourselves spiritually
a) cast aside all worries
b) choose to fix our eyes on Jesus

3. Ask God to show you what He wants us do in this "window of opportunity"
(e.g. invite ______ for Passion of the Christ movie, etc)

4. Start equipping ourselves this week with the knowledge Christ related topics
(e.g. evidences of the ressurection of Christ, Jesus Christ: Fact or Myth, etc)
a. Read up the Passion kit manual given at yesterday team meeting
b. Read up Christ related materials
(e.g. More than Carpenter (thin book), Case for Christ, Why I believe, websites, etc)
(The knowledge will become handy next week as people ask us questions relating to the movie)

5. Next week - be bold and courageous in spiritual actions
(As we obey God of what He wants us to do, He will be with us)

6. We will celebrate together of God's goodness at the end of April, amen?
:)

My prayers are for all of you and for God's purposes to be fulfilled in this "window of opportunity",

your co-labourer in Christ
Michael :)
When you suffer a disappointment, it hurts. It hurts enough that it can powerfully motivate you to find a better way.

Whenever something doesn't live up to your expectations, you can choose to become angry, resentful, frustrated or discouraged. Or, you can set out to make it better.

Disappointment is a thorough, effective and highly personalized teacher.
The powerful lessons learned in the midst of disappointment can stay with you always.

Once you've experienced a disappointment, you're already past the hard part. And you're in a position to turn that disappointment into something valuable. You've paid the price. So step forward and reap the reward.

In disappointment there are the seeds for real improvement, for real progress. Nurture those seeds with newfound strength, and transform disappointment into resounding success.
