Quoteable Quote

'An unknown, attention-seeking person without a purpose makes a fool of himself. Put 10 together, it is the joke of the new millennium.'

    For Real ?

SINGAPORE : Southeast Asian countries have a new basketball league that will start in September.

The ASEAN Basketball League is being backed by AirAsia founder Tony Fernandes and Indonesian media mogul Erick Thoir, who are pumping in a total of US$5 million into the venture.

The league will be organised by the Southeast Asian Basketball Association (SEABA), the governing body for basketball in the region.

Each of the 10 Southeast Asian countries will be allowed to send in a maximum of two privately—owned teams.

Singapore Slingers will be one of the teams competing in the league, which organisers hope will help develop new talent.

While the prize money has yet to be finalised, foreign professionals are expected to play the circuit.

Organisers said basketball is the second most popular sport after football for Southeast Asia's population of 600 million.

The Philippines tops the national rankings in ASEAN, followed by Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia and Singapore.

At Monday's launch in Kuala Lumpur, Mr Fernandes was hopeful that the league's players would someday play in the NBA, but for now, it had other spin—offs.

He said: "During an economic downturn like now, this new league will create jobs. Can you imagine 5,000 people during this slowdown flying to Manila to watch a game?"

At least eight teams are expected to play in the inaugural league. — CNA/ms

    Downsizing ?

People will make Jesus smaller than He is sometimes. as opposed to our national favourite of Supersizing it

Well meaning people that love you will downsize Him and what He's capable of in your life. They don't mean to, they're not being malicious, it just happens.(Reasons unknown to me and YES u i me we are all guilty of it at times too!) And it happened in Mark 5.

Jesus was on the way to attend to the daughter of Jairus. She was sick and Jairus had pleaded with Jesus to come see her. On his way, Jesus got stopped by someone in the crowd and was delayed. Here is what happens in verse 35:

While Jesus was still speaking, some men came from the house of Jairus, the synagogue ruler. "Your daughter is dead," they said. "Why bother the teacher any more?"

Do you see how they downsize Jesus? In that moment, men that had presumably been watching over Jairus’ daughter while he was out recruiting the help of Jesus, came with a message. It was too late. Your daughter is dead. Why bother this man with something that cannot be done, even if he is Jesus.

They practically downsized Jesus and contained him within the framework fo their feeable and human minds.WTF... They believed the situation had passed His abilities.Tehy actually accepted that the entire case is closed They believed that the situation is beyond what our Creator can actually handle.

    It was over.
in their weak and feeable minds.

    Christ responded in v36:

Ignoring what they said, Jesus told the synagogue ruler, "Don't be afraid; just believe."

Then He went to Jairus house and healed his daughter.

Our God refused to stay small.
Our God refused to be limited by other people's expectations of what He was capable of and everyday, He asks us to do the same thing.

I don’t know what you’re going through right now, but Jesus is big enough for it.
    It is not too late.
It is never passed His power.

So when someone tries to downsize Jesus, remember to tell them to shut up. Go pray and just believe.

    nice One !

    Gotten this off Chao Cowboy

A woman didn’t come home one night.
The next day she told her husband that she had slept over at a friend’s house.
The man called his wife’s 10 best friends.
None of them knew about it.

The next day he told his wife that he had slept over at a friend’s house.
The woman called her Husband’s 10 best friends.
