"Beijing Olympics 2008 Mascots linked to disasters?"




Will Changjiang be next?

After the Sichuan Earthquake, netizens of China have put together a series of events linked to the "good fortune dolls", mascots of the Beijing Olympics 2008.

The five mascot dolls signifies:


  • Fish "Beibei", which can be found in Changjiang.

  • Giant Panda "Jingjing" which can be found in Sichuan. ( Sichuan Earthquake )

  • Sacred Fire "Huanhuan" ( Riot due to the Tibet incident )

  • Tibetan Antelope "Yingying" ( Tibet Unrest 2008 )


  • Swallow "Nini" ( Shandong train derailing incident )



  • The incidents are in one way or another, linked to "Jingjing", "Huanhuan", "Yingying" and "Nini". The only mascot free from troubles now is the mascot "Beibei". As "Beibei" signifies a kind of fish which can only be found in Changjiang, netizens are worried that Changjiang might be the next in line for disasters.

    Believe it or not? Hmmmmm…
