The Dark Knight

We did not forget about tonight's main event which is Batman - The Dark Knight. the first of such batman series without the name Batman in it.

The suicide of Heath Ledger, which leads to the movie's surrounding mystique.
You can't help but wonder if there was a link between his death and that of Brendon lee, both wore quite similar make-up, one in Batman and the other in Crow. Maybe we should scrap the make-up thingy altogether.(ED: bsides which real man puts on makeup) Though Heath ledger is gone, his legacy as Joker definitely will remain IMHO.



The movie directed by Christopher Nolan was the sequel to Batman Begins, what i really like in this new installment is the continuity of the movie instead of the usual cut and chop of the previous installment that sometimes makes no sense.



The movie took off where it ended in Batman Begins with Christopher Bale " Bruce Wayne" living in his penthouse instead of the usual Bruce Manor because in the previous movie, it was burned and razed by his mentor Henri Ducard. The love of his life on the other hand have found another man and left Bruce a little bruised in his ego.

The Gotham mob bosses, have turned from lions to mice, scurrying away at the sight of the Bat signal eluminating the Gotham skyline. In comes the Joker(pun totally intended) trying to get a piece of action.

This time round the joker was darker more edgy and crazy. In my opinion much better than joker in the first installment with Jack Nicholas, this is not to say Jack was a bad actor, but just that this time round Batman was a movie meant more for the grown-up child within all of us "Gen-X"ers, who was raised on a staple diet of cartoon comics, then the little kids of today.



The first joker Jack Nicholason did a good job, but Heath just took it to a whole new level.REALLY.



The joker was not only evil but seriously without morals nor ethic, who would kill to get what he wants. You just would never expect what he would come up with. Just when you thought he was caught, then came another twist and another turn.




1 of my pals pointed out this was close to the comics as the true origin of the Joker which was never truly discussed in DC comics, when he first appeared in Batman #1 ( 1940). But I must say Heath outdid himself, in his attempt.



The story actually have 3 themes running - One which discusses about Bruce and his coming to term with his role as Batman, the second is the appearance and the ultimate apprehension of the Joker and third the first appearance and story behind "2 face".

For those who have not watched this movie be prepared for a long dark night. T
his movie is over 2 hours long. And is deep and dark through and through. But ultimately a great movie to watch .

If you decided to watch, remember to take a jacket, food and drinks

Its going to be a long ride.

PS: i cant finish my big bucket.. so i would suggest a medium one instead with 2 large cokes

Cant Smile Without You

This song was haunting me thru out last night.

There was this particular scene in Hellboy2 when Red and Blue both has some relationship problems and started to listen to "The Greatest Love Songs Forever".. And of coz it has to be a barry manilow..

It was particularly haunting for me coz u have to feel the words of wot Red said (between sips of beer),"You simply have to know why a woman is angry? You cant find out from others; You have to know. Thatz wot love is all about eh?"

Interestingly i was talking to a certain Lester Chan on the issue of Romantic Love. He calls it this ,"Romantic love has to be selfish to certain extent. The desire to exalt the object of your affection and admiration into an interpersonal relationship that excludes any third person. To place a person in matter of importance beneath no other person excluding perhaps your closest kin. Hence, the common terms such as "being in a relationship with this girl", "getting engaged to him", "I'm married to my wife", "she is the most important person in my life" etc; symbolize a certain extent of romantic involvement with another person that is exclusive and a level of significance towards the person that is special only towards him or her. These relationships can exist definitely, without romantic love. However, they are the best examples that I can find to illustrate the difference between romantic involvement and other forms of love."

So is Loving someone that cheem.. or issit just a feeling.. Apparently in today society love is nothing more than a feeling. It comes; It goes.

I am a traditional guy when it comes to love.
I will throw all caution to the wind and go after the love of my life.
I will risk life and limb to be with the one.

But i fail many times as i am timid and shy in front of the girl i like.

This might sound funny and contradictory to the usually boisterous and frank me but Frenz who have known me for a long time witness this adverse change whenever i meet girls i am genuinely interested in.

SIGH.

Movies based on comic books are supposed to be the stuff of fantasy. But is it too much to ask for a little believability?
Louis Leterrier's "The Incredible Hulk" is an extravagant, booming picture, and Leterrier has taken great care to deliver one particular element that Lee's picture skimped on: He gives us plenty of opportunities to watch an angry, musclebound green giant smash stuff up.



Anger Management issues that can be simply resolved by the Love of your life calling out your name, Dang it.. this seems like even monsters have a love life.

But Leterrier's Hulk -- like Lee's -- is a CGI creation whose body is a rolling landscape of bulbous muscles and throbbing veins, attached to a face that tells us nothing: Leterrier and his team of CGI elves have worked hard to make the Hulk look "real." They just haven't bothered to make him seem human.

Edward Norton plays Bruce Banner, a scientist who, as the result of an experiment gone haywire, has suffered gamma-radiation poisoning: Now, whenever he becomes angry or overexcited, he's transformed from an essentially low-key, polite man of science into a big, green, pissed-off guy. (Leterrier whisks much of the Hulk's back story out of the way during the opening credits, an economical way of setting up the story for the uninitiated without slowing things down too much for those who already know what they've signed on for.) Banner, knowing he can't fully control his emotions, or his body, has chosen to live in isolation.

When the movie opens, he's hiding out in Brazil, working in a soft-drink bottling plant and living in the slumps where there are like 1001 hot looking South American babes. And we often lay in wonder why he is not moved. (Later part of the movie shows us why)And he is definitely a bad cook, so bad that his dog walks away from the food.



There’s this scene with an advisor, a Zen-master type who says things like, "The best way to control your brain is to control your body" while doing weird ripply things with his stomach.

ok.. enuff of spoilers.. go watch the movie and enjoy the sexual tensions in the movie okay.....

70 Minutes Missing From Hulk, Including Captain America?:

We told you a few days ago here that Incredible Hulk director was running around promising a Captain America cameo in his smashing new movie. Well I saw his Hulk Monday night, and if Captain America is in there anywhere, then I sure as hell didn’t see it. I can’t even think of any place where it would have been logical to fit him in… and yes I stayed until well after the credits. There was nothing.

Cinema Blend also has an update to confirm that Captain America was cut out of Hulk

In the case of The Incredible Hulk, it’s meant 70 minutes of casualties. As we told you in our story here, there are a full 70 minutes missing from the movie which will make it onto the DVD.

We speculated earlier that those missing 70 minutes might contain the Captain America cameo director Louis Letterier promised.
