Part III on DVC.. aka To settle it once & for all

Most of you know that I seldom blog during office hours.. at least in my new office.. unless something big is on the horizon, and with all of the press about the so-called problems with the "DVC," which hit theaters some 2 weeks back, I think this is one of those times. haha.. Those times which warrant a post from me during office hours...

In the couple dozen commentaries about the movie that I've read over the
past couple of weeks, I've seen one Christian leader after another say that
this book, more than anything else in recent history, threatens to blur the
line between the truth of the Gospel and "DVC" 's author Dan Brown's imagination.

I have just two begging questions: How can this be a threat if we are immersing
ourselves in the study of the Word? And if we aren't reading our Bibles 24/7, what's it that is stopping us...besides us?

And just how many of us are reading the "DVC" from cover to cover but are letting our Bibles gather dust?

The problem isn't so much that we're being deceived by the "DVC"; the problem is that we haven't been studying enuff of the Bible, so we don't know what the truth really is.

So the answer to the DVC actually is to read more of your bible lor.. ** cues in thunder & rain midi.

See , i manage to solve the issue better than any Bible scholar..hahahaha (juz kidding)

I think there are more than enuff surveys out there to back up the point about the unfortunate high rate of Biblical illiteracy among Christians. so heck, I'll admit that I'm just as guilty as anyone else of often getting so busy trying to point out error that I forget to pick up my Bible and let it do the talking.

its liken to asking a housewife to go attend a WTO meeting.. She will only nitpick and not solve issues

Disclaimer:
With my sincere apologies to housewives, i have nothing against them really.. My mum's one too..

There once was a very good old barber in New York. One day a florist goes to him for a haircut. After the cut, he goes to pay the barber and the barber replies: "I am sorry. I cannot accept money from you. I am doing community service."

The Florist is happy and leaves the shop. The next morning when the barber goes to open his shop, there is a thank you card and a dozen roses waiting at his door.

A policeman goes for a haircut and he also goes to pay the barber after the cut.
But the barber replies:"I am sorry. I cannot accept money from you. I am doing community service."

The cop is happy and leaves the shop. The next morning the barber goes to open his shop, there is a thank you card and a dozen donuts waiting at his door.

An Indian software engineer goes for a haircut and he also goes to pay the barber after the cut. But the barber replies: "I am sorry. I cannot accept money from you. I am doing community service."

The Indian software engineer is happy and leaves. The next morning when the barber goes to open his shop, guess what he finds there...

Can you guess?

Come on, think like a Singaporean....

Have you got the answer ...........

Come on le............. guess

.... Dozens of Indians waiting for free haircut!

Remember the days leading up to 6 May 2006 ?

wpAMK

Remember the Rallies which garnered more than thousands of Singaporeans

Rallies

Remember the results ? Only 2 wards were won by the opposition with increased percentile this round... It shows the mandate given by the voters..

The reason for my blog post is this.. Are the the carrots dangled by the Candiates then purely whimsical and purely talk only... Are the benefits meant for only pple stayin in the rulign party wards only... then arent our share fo tax being contributed ot other wards then.. i dunno.. maybe i am politically naive... maybe i ish ignorant.. Would someone enlighten me ?

My Fren, Wilfred, gave me a link this morning.. asking me to help sign it.. I thot i would go one up him and blog abt it and ask my readers(you know who you r) to sign the petition.. at least gimme a lift outside my door so that when i m drunk, my frenz can just leave me in the lift and send me up... hahahahaha.. see.. that is an impetus for some of u buddies to start signing the petition... less dead weight to carry when drunk.. hahaha

I heard the news that we as the residents people of Potong Pasir and Hougang have since voted for the Opposition so the upgrading carrot will be withdrawn and we kena asked to queue at the back of the queue again.(Every time GE, we kena Uturn, dunno when then our turn ah!?!?!)

Now, the whole nation will move ahead except 2 wards.. 2 wards who chose what they wanted unlike the others..

Should more than 38,000 of our Hougang & PP residents aka fellow Singaporeans have to 'suffer' because they have exercised their choice fo vote? Should the other residents who voted for PAP be deprived of the upgrading program too?

It does not reflect well on the government if it allows 'politically-generated' slums to evolve.

This would make our government dangerously close to being labelled as tyrannical. But of course, our Government is one that is peaceful, loving, amiable, gracious & most importantly generous.

I am not against the PAP Government but I am against the linking of votes to lifts and estates upgrading.

I have watched PM Lee, Leader fo PAP, speaking on tv many times and read his speeches on the papers, especially since he became our esteemed Prime Minister.

I believe that he is sincere, open-minded and prepared to listen to the common man in the ground.

So pls sign this petition and allow our PM to build a better Singapore together.
