6 Reasons to Why Valentines Day Suck
1 It makes men do stupid things, like light candles, buy flowers and stuff.
2 It gets men into trouble when they don’t do stupid things like light candles, hold the chairs and stuff.
Because, actually, she really wanted you to, but prompting is so unromantic, isn’t it?
3 It’s such a spin off of the unkind merchants who are actually trying to rip you off with flowers, dinner and champagne. Wouldn’t she just prefer the cash instead?
4 In new relationships, whether or not you take her out or buy her a gift speaks volumes about “which stage you’re at”, way before you’re ready for the “are we having a relationship?” chat. (Like we were ever ready for it anyway.)
5 Not only do you have to buy the right size, style and colour of underwear(If you’re even actually buying this, coz the consequences can be pretty dire, though that’s another story for yet another day), you also have to look as if you’re not ogling the breasts of the Agent Provocateur sales girls while you’re at it.
6 There is nothing more disappointing than a woman you’d previously earmarked as wife material not even attempting to smile at the gift, a handwritten card.
I read this somewhere and decided to add in some of my own. Valentines suckkor according to the language of my fren, Cowboy Caleb.

Mouse who barked
A MOUSE met a cat. The mouse barked like a dog. That scared the cat away.

Personally my opinion is that with inflation and rising living costs, we should probably look into this group of pple and help them out with perhaps another increase? Or perhaps just walk the talk and start going to the streets to distribute money.

In view of St Valentines
Life is defined by moments.
Every waking hour of existence is made up of moments with/without people.
Some we remember,
Some we forget.
Some etched onto my minds like those scribbling on the wall.
Yet some linger in the transient existence.
Sometimes these moments are significant, no matter how subtle or petty they may be.
The simplest of all things, as they often are fall into the former.
A simple smile from a child,
An infant gripping tightly around your finger,
A favourite child come running to you
An awkward run-ins with The Crush.
A memory of something you did with a loved one.
These are the defining moments that mark us,
that we cherish
that we look to when defining our perception of life.
"It's either you define the moment, or the moment defines you," so says someone.
Yet another say,”Live for the Moment, Let it flow.”
Moments can be defined yes, but we can, at the very best, influence them, not control them entirely.
Life is short, but a lot can happen in a short span of time.
You can't hope to recall them all, but at the very least, you can recall the moments that made you do the way you are.
Significance is relative, what may have been a small comment on your part may have been an Earth-shattering revelation to others.
And moments are important as they can turn out to be a splash or a tsunami
For whatever moments that we encounter and remember, a degree of appreciation is needed.
After all, if you can't recall the significant moments you've had in life, or with others, then just what kind of life have you lived?
To all my buddies out there reading this,
No matter how distant we are(heart or miles), I am always here for you.
But do leave me alone to my devices as I need time and probably some more time off alone this week.
Today I saw this little girl whom I met earlier on at the Childrens party, she was being brought to school by her mum.
She was in her pigtails and carrying her red bag.
She called out to me”Kor-kor”
I was happy that she saw me.
I was happy to be remembered.
She outstretched her arms and said “Gong-xi! Gong-xi” to me
Her mum laughed and told me that she was expecting an ang bao from me. Guess materialism seeped in early for this one.
Not wanting to disappoint the young one, I took out a red packet from my wallet and put in 2 sweets for her.
She threw me her mega-gazillion watt smile again.

Life’s simple pleasures… made of little bits like this
In view of all that is happening
People, now is the time to learn to look to God.
And build our own r/s strong.
Nothing else really matters at this time.
Sunday i wept at the part..
Higher than the heavens
...
Higher than Hope
Higher than dreams
Strong emotions overcame me as i reminisce the past.

Proverbs 12:6-7
The words of the wicked lie in wait for blood,
but the speech of the upright rescues them.
Wicked men are overthrown and are no more,
but the house of the righteous stands firm.
There is about probably a million verses about speech in Proverbs and the thing that's interesting about these verses are that it doesn't say who the words are lying in wait for.
Some peeps always say The higher you climb, the harder you fall
This verse doesn't say, "The wicked will be low and continue to be low for all time." It says they will be overthrown. It essentially says they will prosper. They will live large and stand high. For a while. But eventually they will be no more. The challenge is that we might never see the outcome.
God rarely seems to define timeframes the same way we would. So right now you might be watching someone else on a great height. You might be wondering when they will be overthrown. You might never see their "no more" in your lifetime. But that's not what matters. Our focus should be on the second part of v7 i.e Building a house that is righteous. Standing firm on the Promises of God.
