UNHOLY WORK EXCESS
------------------
Don't work too hard, it's bad for the spirit - that is Pope Benedict XVI's
message to those willing to break their backs at offices or factories.

The pope, speaking at his summer residence at Castelgandolfo in the Alban
Hills, south of Rome, said his strictures against overworking applied to
himself too, The Times newspaper reported.

"We have to guard ourselves ? against the dangers of excessive activity,
regardless of the office one holds, because too many concerns can often
lead to hardness of heart and suffering of the spirit," he said.

"Instead, people should put aside time for 'prayer and contemplation'," he
added.
